My Story

I attended Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas, where I received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a Master's Degree in School Psychology, with a minor in Special Education. I have worked 13 years in the Law Enforcement field as a Deputy Sheriff/Correctional Officer, Prison Guard, Adult Probation officer, and a Texas Youth Commission Parole Officer. I have over 24 years of experience in education, 16 of which as a school counselor.

I have training and skills in identifying solutions to personal, social, and psychological problems. As a Counselor, I perform therapies that offer support and guidance to individuals or groups in order to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. Counseling is a series of confidential, one-on-one, or group meetings designed to help my clients solve issues affecting their mental health and well-being. Significant diseases and conditions treated by Counselors include addiction, trauma, grief, depression, eating disorders, anger management, career choice, abuse, phobias, chronic pain, and relationship problems. Medical tests, procedures, and therapies provided by Counselors include child, individual, group, couples, mental health, rehabilitation, school, and marriage and family counseling.
